An Australian TV reporter panicked as a parrot landed on her shoulder moments before a live interview on Wednesday.

Brittney Kleyne yelped when the bird surprised her as she readied for a live report.

"I can't get it off me," she said. "Can you please get it off me? It's not funny. It's not funny."

Her cameraman then removed the parrot.

But there's more to the story. The parrot had escaped from her owner. When the bird made the news, it resulted in a reunion.

"A lot of people rang me and said, 'We've seen your bird on the news,'" owner Michelle Mills said.

The parrot, named "Lola," had been missing for about 24 hours. Mills was relieved when the reporter returned her.
