DURHAM, N.C. —  A fight between students at Durham's Northern High School spread to include their parents Friday, a school spokeswoman said.

Tahira Stalberte, chief communications officer at Durham Public Schools, said she didn't know precisely how many people were involved in the fracas.

Stalberte said that school leaders called the parents of students who had been involved in a fight. When those parents arrived, they too got in what Stalberte called "an altercation."

Stalberte said the students had been disciplined by the school.

Both the Durham County Sheriff's Office and Durham police said they had not been called to the school Friday.
