Pair sought in Goldsboro homicide

Wayne County authorities were searching Monday for two men in a Sunday morning shooting death.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Wayne County authorities were searching Monday for two men in a Sunday morning shooting death.

Deputies responded to 102 Sal Court shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday for a reported burglary and shooting, and they found Derrick Matthews, 33, shot to death, authorities said. Two other people inside the home at the time were unharmed.

Investigators said two men forced their way into the home before the shooting, but they obtained only vague descriptions of the intruders.
