— Police said Tuesday that they have charged two men in connection with a Durham shooting death two weeks ago.

Kevin David Powell, 21, of Durham, was found dead in the 1100 block of Linwood Avenue on July 18. Police said the shooting didn't appear to be random.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Malik Shequan Boyce, 36, of Wilkins Road in Bahama, and Larry Lee James, 38, of Tar River Road in Creedmoor, charging them with murder. Neither was in custody Tuesday.

No information was released as to a possible motive for the shooting or what evidence linked the two men to the crime.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Boyce or James is asked to call Durham police Investigator J. Mitchell at 919-560-4440, extension 29335, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
