GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man and woman died and a 6-year-old was critically injured Saturday in a wreck in Guilford County, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Joseph Parker Beeson, 35, of Thomasville, was driving west on East Forks Road around 4 p.m. when he took a curve too quickly and lost control, troopers said. His car crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car.

Beeson and his passenger, Kimberly Dawn Stanford, 38, of Trinity, were pronounced dead upon arrival.

Stanford's 6-year-old daughter, Leann, was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Robert Orman, who was driving the oncoming car, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
