Oxford Soldier Dies in Iraq

OXFORD — An Oxford soldier supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom died June 12 in Baghdad, according to the Department of Defense.

Pvt. William C. Johnson, 22, died of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division in Fort Riley, Kan.
