Oxford man sought in weekend shooting

An Oxford man is wanted in connection with a shooting that happened over the weekend, in which the victim was shot in the abdomen.

Frank “Popeye” Anderson, 35, of Santree Drive, faces one count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and vehicle larceny.

Investigators said Jaleel Duncan, 18, of Goshen Street, was shot in he parking lot of the Z-Mart at Hillsboro and Lewis streets.

Duncan was taken to Granville Medical Center and later transferred to Duke University Hospital, where he was in intensive care Monday afternoon.
