Oxford man dies in wreck

— An Oxford man died when his car ran off the road and struck a tree south of town Wednesday night, state troopers said.

Bobby Lee Brandon, 56, died in the wreck along Fielding Knott Road around 11:30 p.m.

Troopers said that alcohol was a factor in the wreck.

More details haven't been released.

    He wasnt driving he was a passenger in the vehicle and it wasn't on knotts grove rd it was on west Antioch rd media has the story wrong

    There will, I think, be a time when a device is installed on all cars that will assess the alcohol in someone's system before the car is started. In addtion, considering how many who die are not in seatbelts, the car should not start or stay running unless they are engaged as well. Some will say it is an individual right not to wear them but if the injured are not insured, it costs all of us.

    Just another one who didn't understand the concept of staying at home (or where ever you are) when you drink. It's not real hard to understand. When you drink, DONT DRIVE. How unfortunate for his family.
