U.S. 401 in Wake County reopens after tractor trailer overturns

The road was closed in Wake County near St. Patrick Drive just before 10:30 p.m. and was expected to reopen at about 12:30 a.m.

Overturned tractor trailer closes U.S. 401 in Wake County
WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — U.S. Highway 401 reopened Monday morning after a tractor trailer overturned overnight.

The road was closed in Wake County near St. Patrick Drive just before 10:30 p.m. when the driver of a tractor trailer carrying sheet rock lost control of the vehicle and flipped over a railing, authorities said..

Authorities said a hazmat team was called to the scene after the crash caused fuel to spill onto the road.

The driver was not injured in the wreck.

Authorities did not say if charges will be filed against the driver.
