Overturned semi blocks I-85 entrance ramp

— The entrance ramp from Gregson Street to northbound Interstate 85 was blocked for several hours Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer flipped, police said.

The gravel-filled truck overturned on a curve along the ramp shortly before 8 a.m., police said. No injuries were reported.

It was unclear when the ramp would reopen.

    I'll say this much. Professional drivers do make mistakes, and we can't really say what happened from here. I didn't see it, but what I'm getting at is, the Drive axle Trunnion could have had a crack in it, which broke on this corner, causing the tractor to lay over, with the trailer following suit. Seen it happen to a Concrete Mixer truck. Not all trucks have Trunnions though. So he may very well have been going too fast.
