Overnight fire damages custom wood shop in Wake Forest
An overnight fire badly damaged a business that makes custom wooden signs.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — An overnight fire badly damaged a business that makes custom wooden signs.
Firefighters responded to a fire at My Custom Timber, located at 2016 S. Main St. in downtown Wake Forest, just before midnight.
Firefighters said they had to force their way inside the business because it was locked.
The fire was extinguished in five minutes, but the building was heavily damaged. Officials said the smoke was so thick that it affected a few surrounding businesses.
There was no one inside, and no injuries were reported.
