The list below even has some traditional and big box local grocery stores including Publix, Lidl, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Costco and Sam’s Club. There are even some malls that are closing on Thanksgiving Day.
I expect that more grocery stores will be added to this list based on the closings last year. And many grocery stores in the area usually close early on Thanksgiving Day. We'll have a full list of those grocery and drug store closings and early closings posted as soon as the stores release their holiday hours.

- Most stores shared that they are closing on Thanksgiving so employees and customers can enjoy the holiday with their friends and family. Outdoor Research is even closing on Black Friday, and they expect REI to be added to that list soon.
- According to their recent 2017 survey, only 16.22 percent of Americans actually favor Thanksgiving openings. 57.53 percent dislike Thanksgiving openings. 26.25 percent are indifferent.
