Grocery Store Thanksgiving Hours 2016

Over 62 stores have now confirmed that they will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day 2017!

Does this make you want to support these stores more or less?

BestBlackFriday.com personally reached out to representatives from each of these stores over the past month and this the largest list of closings they have had in October. In fact, they expect it to grow to over 75 stores.

The list below even has some traditional and big box local grocery stores including Publix, Lidl, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Costco and Sam’s Club. There are even some malls that are closing on Thanksgiving Day.

I expect that more grocery stores will be added to this list based on the closings last year. And many grocery stores in the area usually close early on Thanksgiving Day. We'll have a full list of those grocery and drug store closings and early closings posted as soon as the stores release their holiday hours.

Interesting Findings from the BestBlackFriday.com research:

- Most stores shared that they are closing on Thanksgiving so employees and customers can enjoy the holiday with their friends and family. Outdoor Research is even closing on Black Friday, and they expect REI to be added to that list soon.

- Thanksgiving Blue Laws for Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine prevent stores in those states from being open on Thanksgiving. Do you think North Carolina should have a similar law?

- According to their recent 2017 survey, only 16.22 percent of Americans actually favor Thanksgiving openings. 57.53 percent dislike Thanksgiving openings. 26.25 percent are indifferent.

What do you think? Do you want stores to be open on Thanksgiving or should they stay closed until Black Friday?
