Our latest obsession: Queen Anne's Revenge

Out and About is highlighting local products we can't get enough of. This month, it is Queen Anne's Revenge, a dark beer brewed by Hillsborough's Mystery Brewing.

One of the best parts of this year's Fire in the Triangle competition is the participation of local brewers, pairing specialty beers with the chefs' creations.

In week one, that meant Mystery Brewing spring selections, and my introduction to the Queen Anne's Revenge.
The QAR is a dark beer without heaviness. It is hoppy, but not bitter. And it finishes with a chocolate note from roasted malt that is sweet but mellow.

Enough with the beer geek talk! If you are a beer drinker who has eschewed dark beers, this is the one that will make you a convert.

Unfortunately, QAR was a spring selection at Mystery, and the public house in Hillsborough is the only place you can get it. (Go. It's only available until the stock runs out, then not again until next year!)
