Our latest obsessions: BBQ and Biscuits

Posted May 8, 2013

— We have two great obsessions this month.

First up, Souse barbecue sauce.

This vinegar-based sauce is made by Big Country Gourmet in Raleigh. We first got a taste at the Wake Tech Culinary Arts Showcase last week and we were hooked!  The sauce is a variation on owner Rob Griffin's family recipe. He even gave away mason jars of the sauce as wedding favors.

Souse available at stores throughout the Triangle, including Nofo and Parker and Otis. Check out their website for a complete list of retailers carrying it.

The next obsession this month is just as southern as barbecue sauce. Wake Tech Culinary Arts Showcase

If Biscuitville was a city, I would want to live there.

I became hooked on the Burlington-based chain last year when I tried their turkey sausage biscuit. This week, the company sent over a few of their new pimento cheese and bacon biscuits to the station for us to taste. Now, we are kinda obsessed.

Biscuitville is offering the biscuits, which contain the Burlington-based "The Original Stan's Pimento Cheese," for a limited time.
