Our frugal outing this weekend

Posted March 20

Sarah P. Duke Gardens

Did you do anything frugal and fun this weekend? We went walking at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham on Saturday and it was gorgeous!

The paths are well kept and we enjoyed beautiful flowers, lovely ponds and bridges and more in the 55 acres of specialized gardens.

We even witnessed 2 couples getting engaged! It was incredibly sweet.

The gardens are free, but there is a charge for parking ($1 per half hour).

The gardens are open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to dusk.

See more details on their website.

Sarah P. Duke garden is my favorite part of durhma (besides the food lol). When Rae was a baby and I did the nanny thing, we went there at least once a week. Last year Rae, DH and baby ziti took me there for mothers day and it was so nice!!

barbiedoll1967 - it really is so peaceful.
