Our featured mom, Boston runner is safe

Posted April 15, 2013

Julie Stoner

I've gotten several emails today and updated today's post about Julie Stoner, our featured mom and Boston Marathon runner.

I just wanted to do a separate post to let everybody know that she is safe. She finished the race in 3 hours, 40 minutes, 33 seconds at about 2:20 p.m. She was on her way back to her hotel as of about 5 p.m. I don't have any more information, but I'm just so happy to report that she's OK.

I know her friends, fellow runners and local moms Tiffany Bjornstad and Allison Roach, mentioned in the post, also finished the race with great times between 2:04 p.m. and 2:10 p.m., according to the marathon's website.

And, of course, WRAL's Kelcey Carlson also finished the race, was at the airport when the explosions happened and returned to the scene where she is reporting now.

My thoughts and prayers are with everybody in Boston.

Terkel...Likewise. Glad she's safe, what difference does it make that she's a "mom"?...Because Sara and her cronies are on the moms running craze, as if this is something novel.

I'm extremely happy for Julie and Kelcey. Thank God. Still praying for the families and loved ones for those that lost their lives, and suffering injuries.

I had just read the story about her an hour or so before the bombing happened. So glad to hear that they are safe.

These ladies worked very hard to do what they did. That's why it matters.
