RALEIGH, N.C. — When ORO first opened its doors in downtown Raleigh, owners Chris and Cara Hylton hoped to serve up global cuisine and comfort food, kicked up a notch.

Five years later, the restaurant is thriving and the Hylton's have become an important part of Raleigh's vibrant culinary scene.

"One of the coolest things that I love and I look forward to it literally every month is First Friday. It's a zoo downtown and its pretty intense. Love the energy. Love the people. Just to see everyone coming out that First Friday is just magical," Chris Hylton said.

Chris Hylton, who great up in Kingston, Jamacia, also serves as the restaurant's executive chef.

"I came to the states when I was 17 years old, just like everyone else, seeking the American dream and 26 years later owning your own business and doing well. It's an amazing experience just to see everything through from start to finish," Chris Hylton said.

Hylton loves to cook dishes that honor his Jamacain roots." I love a great oxtail. I love an amazing curry chicken or goat," he said.

Hylton let Out and About go inside the kitchen to get the secret behind one of his favorite dishes to make that isn't on the menu - Jerk Chicken and Banana Pancakes. Check out the accompanying videos to see his secrets.
