Orange County re-checks restaurant records after discrepancies

An Orange County Health Department inspector has been fired for falsifying inspections.

The Orange County Health Department says routine quality assurance checks in restaurant inspection grades have turned up some discrepancies.

Department Director Colleen Bridger said Tuesday that dates on one of the inspection grade cards did not match the dates in the department's computer, so employees checked inspections for 126 food and lodging establishments. They found 13 did not match the date and grade.

All of the establishments that were re-inspected maintained their "A" rating, Bridger said.
