HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The Orange County Main Library at 300 West Tyron St. will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 13 to move to a new facility, library officials announced Wednesday.

The library has operated in the Whitted Building for 29 years. It will re-open to the public at the new location at 137 West Margaret Lane in Hillsborough on Jan. 8. The new location is closer to the center of downtown historic Hillsborough.

The Cedar Grove Branch will have extended Saturday hours, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Dec. 19 and Jan. 2.
