— Orange County’s elected leaders want to know what residents think about having a county fair.

Residents are invited to take an online survey and submit comments or suggestions on the possibility of organizing a fair by 2015. Email comments to countyfair@orangecountync.gov.

The Orange County Board of Commissioners appointed a working group to explore the idea of a fair, which they described as a celebration of the county’s historic, cultural, farming and artistic identity.

The survey results will be discussed in a public meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Link Government Services Building, 200 S. Cameron St., Hillsborough.

For more information about the survey, call the county at 919-245-2510.

Why was the tea party against the fair last time? It seems it would be great for the local economy to have a fair.

We tried this years ago and the great people of Hillsborough decided they were too good for it....the noise was too much, but I guess since Carboro and Chapel Hill has now taken over our little town they will be all for it.....after all you can't have a sweepstakes but you can stand out on the sidewalk downtown and get plastered!!!

Why do they need a fair with the year round circus at chapel hill!
