Only Burger enters contest to create best breakfast

Only Burger is the only Triangle-area food truck to step up to the breakfast challenge presented by the Thomas Breakfast Battle.

Only Burger is the only Triangle-area food truck to step up to the breakfast challenge presented by the Thomas Breakfast Battle. The battle, sponsored by Thomas’ English Muffins, asked 50 trucks to create a breakfast meal.

For Only Burger, it was easy. They'll add bacon to the fried green tomato, fried egg and pimento cheese on their Famous Fried Green Tomato burger and substitute a Thomas’ English Muffin as a bun.

Only Burger will be selling the Breakfast Burger Sept. 13 at Highwood Towers in Raleigh, Sept. 14 at N.C. State University's Centennial Campus and Sept. 18 at Lonerider Brewery. It will also be available at the two Only Burger brick-and-mortar stores for the duration of the contest, through Oct. 16.

People can vote for their favorite breakfast confection once per day to get entered for the grand prize of $5,000.
