Online bidding available for state surplus

Posted October 29, 2008

— You can now bid on state surplus online.

The North Carolina Surplus Property Agency is using an online sealed bidding system to streamline the process of purchasing goods.

“Our new online system allows potential consumers to register before bidding, which increases accuracy of bids and ensures that qualified buyers are prepared to complete their transaction and claim their goods,” said State Surplus Property Officer Randy Lee. “Our goal is to eliminate paperwork errors and help people obtain the property they want, which in turn increases the amount of revenue we return to the state.”

Revenue generated from surplus property is returned to state programs. The agency reports sales of about $21 million annually.

A registered bidder who cannot access the Web site can call 919-854-2160.

This is NOT always true......You need to see for yourself.
Some times the items are new, unuse or lightly used. And, yes, many times absolutely worn out...

you got to realize one thing. If the state is surplussing it, it's probably junk. They squeeze every once of use out of their stuff..
