Probably from Durham, just passing through town. Or a Chapel Hill/Carrboro tree hugger had one too many to drink.

Now I know why I don't stand on street corners at 2am. I couldn't remember why I knew it wasn't a good idea.

This is the poor, predominantly hispanic area of C-boro.

"Wonder if the shooter was on his way to protest????????"

nah, there aren't too many tea-party gatherings in carrboro.

"Probably not. Crime doesn't happen in Carrboro, Chapel Hill or Cary. Cities that start with "C" are special. Only way it will be on TV is they determine the shooter is from Raleigh or Durham."

I know, Raleigh is a victim. Media, stop victimizing raleigh. It's not fair. It's not fair!

Nice to see all the comments from people who have clearly never been to Carrboro. I live down the street from where this happened. Carrboro and Chapel Hill don't get a lot of news coverage for crime, mostly b/c violent crime is relatively rare (i.e. 1-2 homicides a year compared with how many in Raleigh or Durham?). On the other hand, there is a large and growing problem with property crimes, most car break-ins. If a drive by is going to happen in Carrboro, I'm not surprised that it happened where it did. The apartment complexes at the intersection are already higher in crime than most other parts of town.
