One shot, three sought in attempted Raleigh robbery

— One person was shot in the arm early Sunday during an attempted armed robbery near downtown Raleigh, police said.

The victim was treated and released from a local hospital. 

Police are looking for three men in connection with the shooting, which happened Sunday near the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Blount Street, but specific descriptions of the suspects were not available.

    near downtown, Is that meant to gin up fear among those downtown, this is no where near down town, i suppose it has to be otherwise it would be a boring story.

    You are as safe in Raleigh as in any other city. Trust your instincts- if it looks like a dark street and no one else around, avoid the area. This happened in an area that has no businesses to attract legit business customers. Stay near businesses and you are just fine- like any other city. Raleigh has good and bad parts of town- just like any other city. Still feel safer in Raleigh than in some other bigger cities.

    Thats why I stay out of downtown Raleigh. Buddy was robbed by gunpoint in downtown Raleigh a few yrs ago. These stories seem to be getting much more frequent in the Raleigh headlines.
