The fact is we shall always have the so called "riff raff" among us. Where are they supposed to live ? There's been a push for many years to spread the poor among many north and north east Raleigh neighborhoods. Move em out of downtown and to the 'burbs. Its the norm in apartments and neighborhoods up Capital from Mini City to Triangle and up to Wake Forest (including Wakefield).

I agree with Barfly, I can remember when the Mini City area was the place to be and live out there around the Millbrook and Spring Forest parts. I actually paid a deposit on a brand new apt in a complex called Overlook or something like that, and at first they were bringing in quality tentants until they had more apts than tenants and they began to let anybody in. Including the rif raff and that's when it went down hill quick. The wannabee gangbangers and drugs found their way into the complex and they had to have a security guard in the area. Got my deposit back and moved on. From what I hear, there was a trailer park next to this place and some of the troublemakers from the hood starting hanging around. There went the neighborhood.

What a nice little slice of Americana section of town don'tcha think?

Mini City has been in decline for years. Under the wealth redistribution plan, slumlords are lining their pockets with government cash and the entitlement crowd destroys the local economy. Great plan if you're into high crime.

When will ALL members of society get tired of this everyday? Answer, when all the good guys get a conceal and carry and defend themselves from bad people.

I'm glad I moved from that area, too many shootings going on in within that 2-mile radius.

Unfortunately this is happening all the time in Raleigh lately. Robbery with a shooting in this neighborhood, murder in another on Loft Lane. Violent crime is hitting the headlines so much more in Raleigh lately..kind of eye opening.
If this had been in Durham in the same kind of low income housing there would be 100 comments by now on how all of Durham is bad....

Glad your son was not harmed in his unfortunate robbery. My son did the same deliveries and I always worried about that happening, luckily it never did.

not a good neighborhood. My son got robbed delivering pizzas in that area several years ago. Caught the robber three days later. The guy was 19 years old. Accused of five counts of armed robbery, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon. All within a weeks time. My son was lucky. The robber only took $40 cash and his cell phone.

I can remember when that area was so nice and peaceful. Government rent vouchers took care of that.
