One person shot in Sanford

— Sanford police were investigating a shooting Sunday that left one person injured.

The victim showed up at Central Carolina Hospital around 5:30 a.m. to be treated for a gunshot wound, police said. The victim's identity hasn't been released.

Gunfire also damaged windows of buildings along Steele Street, but police could not confirm that's where the shooting happened.

More details haven't been released.

    I wonder if this was connected with the drive-by shooting on Cameron Drive behind the soccer field Friday night? I saw a pic on the internet of two 9mm spent casings recovered and offered to the SPD. Supposedly they told the guys that picked the shells up that they weren't important to any investigation. Go figure.

    They just have to have "that" gun knowing what the consequences will be. Hopefully the police will have their man asap.
