Man shot at Garner apartment building

— A 35-year-old Garner man was critically injured Wednesday evening in a shooting at an apartment building across the street from the police department, authorities said. 

Kyevon Diates Frazzell Gayles was listed in critical condition Thursday afternoon at WakeMed. 

According to investigators, he was shot shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Seventh Avenue. 

Police are searching for a four-door white Nissan Altima or Maxima that was seen leaving the area after the shooting. 

They are also searching a for a man who was described as 6 feet tall with an average build and goatee. He was seen leaving the area with a white hat with a black brim, a white T-shirt and black shorts.

    Is it too politically incorrect to list the race in the description of the criminal?? If so, that's pretty ridiculous because it could help people identify the criminal. Next we won't be able to say if it was male or female.

    I would think if the guy is in critical condition, I'd say he was the one that was shot. Not the apartment. Don't see how that could be any less clear.

    WRAL: So did this man receive a gunshot wound while he was at a Garner apartment? Or did he take a shot at a Garner apartment? Did he hit it?
