One person killed in Moore County wreck
A Moore County Sheriff's Office employee died in a vehicle accident Monday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedCARTHAGE, N.C. — A Moore County Sheriff's Office employee died in a vehicle accident Monday afternoon.
Jimmy Comer, 61, died in a head-on collision on N.C. Highway 24/27 west of Carthage.
Comer had worked at the Moore County Detention Center since 1997.
"Mr. Comer was a valued friend to everyone at the Sheriff's Department," said Moore County Sheriff Neal Godfrey. "His family is in all of our thoughts and prayers."
