A Fayetteville man died early Wednesday after a single-car wreck near the intersection of Rim Road and Castel Falls Circle, police said. 

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — A Fayetteville man died early Wednesday after a single-car wreck near the intersection of Rim Road and Castel Falls Circle, police said. 

Officers responded to the area about 1 a.m. According to investigators, the car ran off the roadway and struck a tree. Benjamin Hunter Fortenberry, 24, was killed.

Crews shut down Rim Road between Castle Falls Circle and Gooden Drive for about five hours while investigating the crash.
