lazydawg..."Your chances of being a victim of a violent crime are about 1 in 154."
That is a totally bogus statistic.

The young are not living long in this day and time. If they would think about walking away, insead of pulling a loaded gun out....If only. My condolences to the family and friends in their loss.

lazydawg - I can't count the amount of murders in Greenville the past 2 years, you're saying the same amount of murders happened in Wilmington? I find that hard to believe.

The Greenville violent crime rate is about the same as Wilmington, Greensboro and Charlotte. It is higher than Raleigh and lower than Winston-Salem, Fayetteville and Durham. Your chances of being a victim of a violent crime are about 1 in 154.

Plus her grades weren't good enough for Wake Forest OR Duke...actually my pocketbook couldn't afford either.

    Exactly, Cary Pirate.

Cary Pirate, don't forget UNC-CH. All we can do as parents is pray. There is no such thing as a "safe" place.

Your child would have no reason to be in that area. Guess you have to cross Duke, NCSU, UNCC and Wake Forest off the list also.

My child wanted to go to ECU. NOT a chance.
