FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Raeford Road and Pursue Drive, police said.

The man, whose name hadn't been released as of Monday evening, was driving northbound on Purdue Drive shortly after 2:30 p.m. when a 2007 Chevrolet ran a red light and slammed into his 2002 Nissan, police said.

The force of the collision pushed the Nissan into a 2008 Ford driven by Herman Gray Jr., 61. Gray was uninjured in the wreck, and his vehicle sustained minor damage, police said.

Christina Hart, 26, of Spring Lake, the driver of the Chevrolet, and a passenger in the Nissan, suffered minor injuries, another passenger in the Chevrolet wasn't injured, police said.

The Fayetteville Police Department's Traffic Unit is investigating the accident, and charges are pending, police said.
