One killed in Spring Lake crash
One person was killed Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Spring Lake, police said.

At about 12:30 p.m., a 2000 Ford Contour rear-ended a 1988 GMC pickup, which was disabled in the right northbound lane of N.C. Highway 210 but had its emergency flashers on, police said. The Contour then went spinning into the southbound lanes, where it was struck by a Toyota Sequoia SUV.
The lone occupant of the Contour, whose name hasn't been released, died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The person in the pickup wasn't hurt, nor were the husband and wife in the SUV, police said.
N.C. 210 was shut down for a while as police investigated the crash and the wreckage was removed from the scene.
