One killed in Rocky Mount shooting; 20-year-old charged

Rocky Mount, N.C. — A Rocky Mount man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 31-year-old who was killed early Saturday, the Nash County Sheriff's Office said.
According to investigators, Tony Pittman Jr. was shot by Nicholas Ray Daniels at about 3:30 a.m. after an altercation at a home at 3030 Como Drive. Pittman and Daniels knew each other, authorities said, and Pittman had come to the home prior to the altercation.
Daniels, who lives at the home, was in the Nash County jail Saturday morning being held without bond.
No other information about the shooting has been released.
