One killed in Harnett County car crash

State Highway Patrol investigators said that a 1991 International trash truck driven by Christopher Renwick Donaldson, 38, was traveling west on Darroch Road when Donaldson ran onto the right shoulder of the road and lost control.

LILLINGTON, N.C. — One man is dead following a car accident on Darroch Road at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

State Highway Patrol investigators said that a 1991 International trash truck driven by Christopher Renwick Donaldson, 38, was traveling west on Darroch Road when Donaldson ran onto the right shoulder of the road and lost control.

The vehicle overturned and Donaldson’s passenger, Walter Leroy Bull III, 47, of 1144 Darroch Road in Lillington, was ejected and pinned under the truck.

He died as a result of his injuries.

Donaldson and another passenger, whose name was not released, were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where they were treated for injuries and released.

Investigators said that once an investigation into the accident is complete, troopers will meet with the local district attorney’s office to discuss possible charges.
