One killed in Fayetteville shooting

One man was killed late Thursday in a shooting on Old Shaw Road in Fayetteville, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One man was killed late Thursday in a shooting on Old Shaw Road in Fayetteville, police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 225 Old Shaw Road at about 11:30 p.m., and they found Ernest Demetrus Rogers, 36, had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Rogers was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said someone fired shots into the house, and they were following leads in the case Friday. No arrests have been made.
