Beatrice Bailey Newman, 57, a front seat passenger in a Pontiac, died in the crash, troopers said.

Two other people had life-threatening injuries, according to troopers. Their names were not released. One of the people with the most serious injuries was a young male, authorities said.

The driver of the civic was my little girls daycare teacher and her name is Miracle Aman. She is also at Chapel Hill with a broken pelvis, ankles, and not sure if anything else is broken, but lots of bruises, cuts, and scrapes. She was within minutes of being home. She was on her way home from Atlanta, GA. It was raining so hard I couldn't even see out my window into my front yard. Not only is in pain but she is having to face the fact that the other lady was killed as a result of the wreck. She is in great depression. Couple of weeks ago her mom got sick and is unable to walk and no one knows why. Please everyone this is such a tragic accident please help me in praying for both families. As they both will need it.
