Man, 38, charged with murder in Fayetteville shooting

A 38-year-old Fayetteville man was charged with first-degree murder early Wednesday after authorities say he shot and killed a person at a home in the 800 block of Bullock Street.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 38-year-old Fayetteville man was charged with first-degree murder early Wednesday after authorities say he shot and killed a person at a home in the 800 block of Bullock Street. 

Marlon Dwayne Underwood, of 1906 Slater Ave., was jailed without bond Wednesday morning in the Cumberland County jail. 

According to investigators, Underwood shot Robert Lamont Currie, 42, multiple times about 12:15 a.m. after a disturbance at Currie's Bullock Street home. 

Currie was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

No other information about the shooting has been released.
