According to Raleigh police, officers responded to a reported shooting at the City Studios Hotel at 2910 Capital Boulevard at about 3:40 p.m.
Demarcus Danyell Ramone Smith, 27, was shot in the left leg and transported to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still searching for a suspect, who was captured on a surveillance camera, and said that the circumstances surrounding the assault remain under investigation.
