Man dead, two injured after shooting at Wendy's restaurant in Fayetteville

Fayetteville police responded to a shooting at the Wendy's restaurant located at 2903 Raeford Road. Saturday around 3:15 p.m. One man was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was shot in the arm, and a third man was shot in the hand, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One man died and two others were injured in a shooting at a Wendy's restaurant on Saturday.

Fayetteville police responded to a shooting at the Wendy’s located at 2903 Raeford Road around 3:15 p.m.

31-year-old Brandon L. Ratliff, from Virginia, was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man was shot in the arm, and a third man was shot in the hand, police said. The victims are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the men had arranged to meet each other in the restaurant parking lot. One of the subjects pulled out a handgun and gunshots were fired. Police emphasized this was not a random incident.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Departments’s homicide unit are investigating the shooting and homicide.
