RALEIGH, N.C. — Two people died and and a baby was hospitalized after a head-on crash between a pickup truck and a U-Haul truck on Wednesday night.

The accident happened on N.C. Highway 98 near Six Forks Road before 9:30 p.m.

The driver of the U-Haul died from injuries received in the crash, while the driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with "very serious injuries," according to State Highway Patrol troopers.

The driver of that truck later died.

Troopers said the passenger in the pickup truck was a baby, who is also at the hospital but is expected to be OK.

The driver of the pickup truck crossed over the center line, according to troopers.

The road was blocked for several hours as Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
