Wake Forest, N.C. — Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was found Saturday evening at a home in Wake Forest.
Investigators responded to 101 Jordan Lane shortly after 6:15 p.m. and found 47-year-old Jeffrey Daylon Mitchell dead on the porch of the home. Calvin Anderson Ray, 89, lived at the home.
According to investigators Ray was taken into custody for questioning, but no charges have been filed.
"The shooter was in the house, we have him now, talking to him and a witness who was with the person who was deceased, and we are trying to find out what happened," Sheriff Donnie Harrison said.
Harrison said the two men were acquainted, but he did not know how well they knew each other.
