One person died in an apartment fire in Durham on Saturday morning.
The fire occurred at Colonial Townhouse Apartments on Chapel Hill Road.

Firefighters arrived around 9:30 to find heavy smoke from the front of a two-story apartment building. The 35 responding firefighters learned one person was trapped and dealt with flames throughout the apartment and the attic.
The New Hope Fire Department, Durham EMS, and the Durham Police Department responded to the fire.
Crews had the fire under control in 25 minutes.
Around 2 p.m., police and firefighters were still at the scene.
The American Red Cross is helping three adults and two children who lived at adjacent apartment units and had to evacuate.
The name of the person who died was not released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
