One arrested, one sought in Chapel Hill armed robberies

Chapel Hill police have arrested one man and are searching for another wanted in connection with recent armed robberies.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police have arrested one man and are searching for another wanted in connection with recent armed robberies.

Daniel Rashaun Thompson, 20, was arrested Saturday on outstanding warrants for three counts of armed robbery and one count of common-law robbery. He was placed in the Orange County jail under a $75,000 bond.

Kearn Anquey Bell, 18, of Raleigh, has outstanding warrants for two counts of armed robbery. He remains at large.

Police said the suspects targeted individuals near downtown Chapel Hill.

Anyone with information about Bell's whereabouts should call Chapel Hill police at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515. Callers to Crime Stoppers never have to identify themselves and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
