FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Officials have canceled the Silver Alert issued Monday morning for a missing endangered man who has been diagnosed with a cognitive impairment condition that requires medication.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department said Michael Walsh, 25, of Fayetteville was located Monday and transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for a precautionary evaluation. Once Walsh is discharged, he will be reunited with his family.

The Silver Alert was issued early Monday when Walsh was last seen walking away from his home on the 100 block of Ingleside Drive in Fayetteville. Officials believe he was headed towards his grandmother's home on the 2600 block of Flamingo Drive.
