Officials: Missing Northampton County 12-year-old found safe

Authorities in Northampton County have canceled the Amber Alert issued Monday for a missing 12-year-old girl who was last seen in the Woodland community.

WOODLAND, N.C. — Authorities in Northampton County have canceled the Amber Alert issued Monday for a missing 12-year-old girl who was last seen in the Woodland community.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety issued a statewide Amber Alert for Zahreiah Moni-Symone Gilliam at about 3:20 a.m. Around 8 a.m., officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol announced that Gilliam was found safe.

Gilliam was last seen at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday at 507 E. Main St. in Woodland.

Authorities did not release any information about a possible suspect.

Anyone with information on Gilliam's whereabouts should call the Northampton Sheriff's Office at 252-534-2611, or call 911 or *HP.
