Officials evacuate four small businesses in Raleigh due to gas leak

Four small businesses on Hillsborough Street were evacuated Tuesday morning after a gas leak, Raleigh police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Four small businesses on Hillsborough Street were evacuated Tuesday morning after a gas leak, Raleigh police said.

The leak was reported near the intersection of Ashe Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. The leak was capped by 9:50 a.m.

Police closed Hillsborough Street between Park and Morgan streets while crews worked to repair the leak. Officials said the businesses should reopen by mid-morning.
