Official: 10 hospitalized after suspicious package found at IRS building in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, MO — Authorities in Kansas City are investigating a suspicious package was found at an Internal Revenue Service building Friday morning.
Police were alerted to the incident at about 9:45.
Officers say workers at the building smelled an odor coming from a single package, found in a mail room, and that 13 people are feeling ill and have nausea or are vomiting.
At least two people have been taken from the building on a stretcher.
Ten were taken to an area hospital, eight of them were later released. Two people are still at the hospital suffering from respiratory issues.
The building is located at 333 W Pershing Road.
