— The 139th Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, and if you can't make it to Louisville, at least you can attend one of the Triangle's Derby Day events:

Road to Roses Derby Party at The Oxford: Head downtown in your Seersucker and big hats to watch Derby coverage. Maker's Mint Juleps will be served, and the first 46 people in line to get a Maker's Mark glass will get it dipped in that iconic red wax.

A Day at the Derby with Washington Duke Inn: The inn will be celebrating the Derby all day long with TV coverage, a Derby hat contest, brunch and a three-course prix fixe dinner. Call 919-493-6699 for details.

Clayton Derby Day at Portofino: This fun event has something for everyone in the family: horseback riding for the kids, a fashion show, live music, mint juleps (of course) and live coverage of the Derby.

Kentucky Derby Party at Battistella's: Celebrate Derby day with a Southern twist at this New Orleans restaurant. There will be many chances to win great prizes, TV coverage, and Kentucky favorites like mint juleps, hot brown sandwiches, Chef B's bourbon lemonade and chocolate truffles.
