Posted — UpdatedDurham County Library and Book Harvest are teaming up for a giant book swap at Northgate Mall this Saturday.
Here's how it works: Families are invited to bring infant, children’s and teen books that they have already read and swap out others, all for free. Youngsters and teens will be able to decorate a bag and then choose their own books to fill their bags.
Kid-friendly performances are planned. Magic by David with face painting and balloon animals is at 11 a.m. And Huepa will perform a Latin American dance performance at noon. There will also be slime making with Mad Science and crafts with The Scrap Exchange.
The sale, which celebrates the grand opening of the Friends' spot at Northgate Mall, also is open 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday. It is open to the public both days. Hardbacks will be $3, trade paperbacks and larger will be $2, mass market paperbacks will be $1, and all other items will be priced as marked.
