North Hills has postponed its Winter Wonderland event this Saturday because of the threat of rain.

WRAL Weather is forecasting a 70 percent chance for rain, with precipitation more likely falling in the afternoon and early evening. Saturday's outdoor event, which includes crafts from Go Ask Mom and outdoor movies, wouldn't have been much fun!

North Hills has rescheduled the event for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Dec. 13. It takes place at Midtown Park, which is on the east side of Six Forks Road. Go Ask Mom will be there with a fun and very easy Christmas tree ornament craft. The schedule also includes holiday music, a screening of the animated classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at 5 p.m. and, at 5:30 p.m., "Elf," starring Will Ferrell.

Santa Claus will be making an appearance at North Hills from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Dec. 13, at the Shepherd's Way Farms Christmas tree lot. You can find the lot and its giant sleigh on the same side as Midtown Park. It's free to visit with Santa and take your own picture.

I hope to see you next Saturday, Dec. 13!
